Happy New Year: Implementation is set for 2018

The Hallwood Project Team intends to begin implementation in Spring 2018. Several permit applications were completed and permits obtained in 2017 were: USFWS and NMFS issued Biological Opinions under Section 7 in February 2017. Environmental Assessment/Initial Study Public Draft

Yuba County and USFWS (the CEQA and NEPA Leads, respectively) submitted the Public Draft EA/IS to the State Clearinghouse on Wednesday October 18th, beginning the 30 day public review period. Please submit any comments to Kevin Perkins at Yuba County (kperkins@co.yuba.ca.us) by Friday November 17th. Permitting Update

We received an ESA Section 7 Biological Opinion from NMFS on February 10, 2017 for the Project's effects on the threatened California Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon ESU, the threatened California Central Valley steelhead DPS, and the North American green sturgeon Southern DPS. The Opinion concluded that the Project is not likely to jeopardize continued existence, [...]

Pre-implementation monitoring update

Initial results from monitoring experiments completed by Cramer Fish Sciences fisheries biologists are available! Key findings include: Non-native predatory fish (largemouth bass and sunfish) have been observed within the large backwater pool at the lower end of the Project reach.
